India’s Consul General in Medan, Shubham Singh told reporters in his office of the Archbishop of Jalan in Medan on Wednesday (7/6) afternoon.

Singh calls this yoga sport a series of commemorations of International Yoga Day 2023 which falls every June 21. However, in Medan, it will be held on June 24, 2023. In Indonesia, this International Yoga Day will also be held in three places, namely the Embassy of India (Embassy) in Jakarta, the Consul General of India in Medan and the Consul General of India in Bali.

The theme for this year’s celebration is “Yoga for Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam”. Singh called Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam meaning “The world is one family”.

“This theme is very relevant in today’s world, where we are increasingly interconnected. Yoga can help us connect with ourselves, with each other, and with the world around us. Yoga can also

help us reduce stress, improve physical and mental health

us, and promote peace and harmony,” Singh said.

Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam is also the theme of India’s G20 Presidency. That is to say “One Earth, One Family, One Future”.

“I want to invite everyone to join us for this special event for free. All are welcome to participate,” Singh said.

This event is a collaboration with Nirvana Yoga supported by Medan City Tourism Board,

Yoga participants are not limited as the capacity of the hall is more than 1000. In previous years, 300-400 people have participated in yoga.
