Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – Sports Achievement Management Expert and Sports Professor at Yogyakarta State University (UNY), Professor Djoko Pekik Irianto highlighted the plight of National Sports Grand Design (DBON) after the resignation of the Minister of Youth and of Sports (Menpora), Zainudin Amali.
According to him, Menpora Amali can be called the central figure who gave birth to DBON by Presidential Decree number 86 of 2021.
Basically, DBON is a long-term sports development program 2021-2045 which includes educational sports, community sports and especially achievement sports with the main goal being that Indonesia can place 5th in the 2044 Olympics .
To support DBON, Permenpora issue 6 of 2022 regarding the DBON roadmap 2021-2024, as well as Permenpora no. 10 of 2022 regarding the Development of Regional Sports Centers.
“Currently, DBON has entered its 3rd year, but has not worked as planned, only a number of programs have started to stretch, including the opening of 4 potential national sports training centers for young people (SLOMPN ) in 4 universities, as well as plans to build centers for world-class elite athletes in Cibubur which will follow the concept of the Japanese training center in Ajinomoto,” he said during the confirmation on Sunday (26 /2/2023).
Some of the obstacles facing the implementation of DBON include, first, the unavailability of a budget to operate DBON, as stated by the Menpora some time ago. Secondly, the role of the 21 Ministries and Institutions, both programs and budgetary appropriations, is not yet optimal, as stipulated in the Presidential Decree no. 86 in 2021.
“With the planned departure of Zainudin Amali from Menpora’s position to focus on PSSI, the public is worried about the fate of DBON,” said Djoko Pekik, who is also chairman of the expert council of the Indonesian Association of Sports Researchers. (ISORI).
