The Japanese government will support six Indian projects as part of its efforts to diversify the risks associated with supply chain disruptions. The companies that will implement these projects in India are ACSL Corporation, Sagri Co. Ltd, Fujifilm Corporation, Showa Denko Materials Co. Ltd, Instalimb Inc. and Denso Corporation.
In its third supplementary budget for fiscal year 2021, Japan has provided a total of around 8.6 million US dollars for eight projects as part of the “Program for the Supply Chain Resilience in the Indo-Pacific Region”. The other two projects are being implemented by Japanese companies Australia.
In a statement, the Embassy of Japan in India said the eight projects (six of which are from India) were selected on April 25, 2022 from public applications received by April 11, 2022. These projects are scheduled to be implemented by March 2023.
“Disruptions in the supply chain are associated with a variety of risks that companies face today. To respond to such risks, supply chain visualization, data linkage and supply chain diversification using digital technology are paramount for companies to improve their business environment,” the embassy stated.
