Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

The Indonesian coach was instrumental in the success of the Indian team to win Thomas Cup 2022. Here are 5 Indonesian coaches who handled India.

The Indian badminton team made history by winning the 2022 Thomas Cup.

This certainty was achieved after India managed to beat Indonesia 3-0 in the last match of the Thomas Cup 2022 which took place in Bangkok on Sunday (15/5).

However, India’s success in winning the 2022 Thomas Cup has proven to be influenced by the touch of the Indonesian coach.

Here are 5 Indonesian coaches who coached India:

1. Mulyo Handoyo

Taufik Hidayat’s former coach Mulyo Handoyo contributed to the rapid rise of men’s singles in India.

Mulyo Handoyo was recruited as India badminton men’s singles coach in 2017. He honed three Indian men’s singles: Kidambi Srikanth, Sai Praneeth and HS Prannoy to have mature skills.

Then Mulyo Handoyo decided to leave India in 2018 before his contract expired.

2. Flady Limpele

Flady has shown himself capable of achieving feats after transitioning from player to coach. Evidenced by his ability to make Indian men’s doubles, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy / Chirag Shetty a respected partner.

Flandy has been coaching India since March 2019. Thanks to his cold hands, Rankireddy/Shetty have often been a stumbling block for top badminton players from other countries.

Flandy then decided to move to Malaysia even though he proved capable of raising the Indian pair’s level of play. Eng Hian’s former partner when he was actively playing received a proposal from BAM.

Now, Flandy Limpele has officially become the Indonesian badminton mixed doubles coach after being announced by PBSI on March 28, 2022.
