Luxe and Stylish: Dhaba by Claridges, DLF Place, Saket

Dhaba by Claridges was established 29 years ago, now the Hotel is set to recreate the same magic again; The Dhaba by Claridges has been unveiled in DLF Place, Saket to cater to youngsters who prefer to hang out at more casual haunts with great food at good prices. I remember spending a lot of my childhood Birthdays at the original, so I was very keen to see the new Dhaba with a twist. Keeping the younger audience in mind, Dhaba by Claridges has a modern twist to its décor as well as its menu. The menu, crafted especially by chef Ravi Saxena, is based on fresh ingredients rustled up with rudimentary spices found along the bustling highways in North India.

There is also a contemporary, kitch look to the décor of the Dhaba by Claridges in Saket. The truck has expanded to accommodate a private dining experience, and truck art adorns the walls. The Nalka chandelier, Gramophone, Canister Basin, Nimbu-Mirchi lights, are all reminiscent of a roadside dhaba. But these elements have been modernised to infuse a chic and fun element!

The menu is divided into three parts, tawa, tandoor and patila and includes typical rustic dishes like Kanastari Baingan (Baingan ka Bharta served in a copper canister), Dhaba Chilli Chicken, Golgappe ki Chaat,Vada PavKeema Pav, Pav Bhaji etc.  The beverage menu comprises favourites like Kulhar LassiAam Panna, Jal Jeera and Mango/Ruhani Lassi. The entire pleasure of dining at the Dhaba by Claridges is complete only with signature desserts like Bailey’s Kulfi, Pista Kulfi and sugar-free ice-creams. The meal is rounded off with Desi Paan made by the famous Panditji, whose shop outside The Claridges Hotel is as iconic as the hotel itself.

As a part of The Claridges foundation which is a Non Profit Orgnisation for the Hotel CSR Initiatives, The Claridges Skills & Employment Programme has been implemented at this restaurant also. Under this programme, the candidates from the unprivileged sections of the community in collaboration with the NGO Prayas are trained and employed in one of The Claridges Hotels. The Dhaba by Claridges at Saket blends the trademark rustic charm of the original Dhaba with a contemporary, more casual culinary ambience. The new restaurant is a perfect marriage of the style, delectable flavours and earthy appeal of the signature restaurant with a more urban feel.
